Unfortunately, the cork lid has a strong, unpleasant odor that doesn’t go away, and it transfers to the water inside. This makes the water smell and taste off, so I am unable to use this jug. It’s frustrating because it looks nice, but the odor completely ruins the experience.2

I thought it will go away with time, but it never did! I tried washing it with dish soap, but the smell is still there, and when the lid stays on - the smell goes into the water. Pouring liquid takes a long time due to the combination of a thick lid and a narrow opening. Additionally, the glass is very thin, so be cautious when using it, as it can easily break if it comes into firm contact with the table. ( It looks good in terms of appearance)2

Perfect
Needed a lidded water jug that also looks good, this fits the bill perfectly. You do have to lift the lid slightly to pour properly, a small cut out would have been useful, but very happy overall.

Material

What is cork?

Cork comes from cork oak bark which is carefully cut from the tree’s trunk. It then takes about nine years until the tree forms new bark that can be harvested. Since a cork oak can live to be aged 150-200, each one produces a lot of cork during its lifetime. Cork has several good qualities as a material: it’s lightweight, flexible, waterproof and naturally resists fire. We use it in furniture and accessories.
